Seasonal Planters

SEASONAL PLANTERS

Sometimes, all it takes are a few strategically placed containers overflowing with flowers, to pull an outdoor space together and to make a front entrance more welcoming. The Gardeness specializes in containers that will flourish, and create the perfect statement piece for any location.

SEASONAL PLANTING

While plantings really depend on the weather, and different conditions of each space, this is about when and what you can expect of the seasonal containers.

Spring:  End of March/Early April
They will be planted with things that stand frost or a light freeze, such as tulips, daffodils, pansies, primrose, and other early spring flowers, along with some foliage perennials and branches.

Summer:  Mid May
While this is actually the end of spring, containers will be planted with plants that can last all summer. This is after the frost date and also when perennials are out of dormancy so the selection of plants will be more varied than spring. This is when creativity with color and texture happens the most since the options are endless. The Gardeness normally likes to hear your favorite colors to come up with the right pallet of plants for each situation.

Summer Maintenance:  Mid summer, about July
This is a maintenance visit where upkeep will be preformed on the planters. Depending on each situation pruning, fertilizing, or replacing plants will be done to ensure that containers look their best through the end of summer.

Fall:  Mid September to October
Fall is winding down the flowering season, but not without a burst of floral color. Autumn planters will include things like Mums, Cabbage, Kale, pansies, stock and other fall blooming material. Textures are normally a highlight of the fall planters.

Winter:  Mid November/Early December
These will be either evergreen shrubs and perennials, shrubs with winter interest form, or cut greens. Even though the cut greens are just branches they hold their color almost all the way until spring. This gives you something green to enjoy through the winter.

You can do one or all seasons, just let us know what works best for you!
